Chromas is a free Windows application which displays and prints chromatogram files from ABI automated DNA sequencers, and Staden SCF files which the analysis programs for ALF, Li-Cor and Visible Genetics OpenGene sequencers can create. Chromas allows basecall editing and exporting of the sequence to a file or the clipboard. It also features reverse/complement and search functions. To download it, hold down shift and click the left mouse button on one of the links below. These are self-extracting archives for Windows. Run the file and enter the name of the directory you wish to extract Chromas to. If the directory contains an old version of Chromas, click Yes To All to replace the old files. Sorry, the 32-bit version does not have a 32-bit self-extractor, so you cannot use long names in the destination path. You can use the short version of existing folder names, eg "Program Files" is "progra~1". You may delete the file CW3215.DLL which came with previous 32-bit versions, as it is no longer required.
Chromas is freely distributable.
Changes in version 1.43:
Chromas was inspired by ABIView by David H. Klatte, and developed using information found on the ABIView Home Page, a paper by Clark Tibbetts, and the SCF format description.
